FIREARMS were seized last week from a Tullamarine property during a police operation aimed at organised crime in outlaw motor cycle gangs (OMCG).
The Tullamarine address was one of 30 properties across the state from which firearms were seized by Victoria Police's Echo taskforce.
Police would not reveal the addresses raided or provide details of individual raids. No arrests were made in Tullamarine.
The taskforce seized 109 firearms across the state. Some were registered; others were illegal.
Assistant Commissioner (crime) Steve Fontana said police made no apology for the seizures, even given that many of the firearms were registered.
"OMCG members brand themselves as 'one percenters', not Victoria Police, and we don't believe it's appropriate for people with this belief to have legitimate access to firearms.
''We've applied the 'fit and proper person test' and it's our opinion that one percenters don't meet that test."
Assistant Commissioner Fontana admitted the police actions could result in OMCG members not registering their weapons in future.
