HUME City Lady Broncos edged ahead of the win-loss count with a two-point overtime victory against Diamond Valley in Big V Basketball women's state league on Saturday night.
The 67-65 win improved Hume City to four wins and three losses, good enough for a top-four berth on Saturday night pending matches played after the Weekly's deadline.
Overtime was a low-scoring tussle after the teams were locked 58-all after four quarters.
Hume sunk two of its seven attempts from the field to Diamond Valley's 1-from-9 to take the victory.
Hume's Antonia Edmondson (18 points, 17 rebounds), Lisa Wallbutton (14 and 20) and Bianca Babic (13 and nine) led the numbers.
