THE influx of ex-AFL talent continues for the Essendon District Football League with division 2 premiership aspirant Airport West and reigning division 1 premier Strathmore leading the way.
More than a dozen ex-AFL players, many still in the prime years of their playing careers, will call the EDFL home this season.
Adam Iaccobucci is arguably the biggest signing in division 1, the former Collingwood player and Northern Bullants captain joining ex-West Coast Eagles player Ash Arrowsmith at Lebanon Reserve.
Daniel Harris makes a compelling case as the league's biggest recruit signing, with the former North Melbourne player heading to Airport West straight out of the AFL after a season with the Gold Coast Suns.
Simon Wiggins and playing coach Adam Contessa have also switched to the Eagles.
David Fanning (Port Melbourne), Tom Hislop (Richmond) and Brayden Norris (North Melbourne) have joined an array of ex-AFL players at Aberfeldie.
Ex-Saint Steven Baker has joined Craigieburn, and Bulldog Mitch Hahn has registered for Pascoe Vale.
Xavier Clarke (Brisbane Lions to Avondale Heights) and Dean Putt (Richmond to Keilor) have joined the league, while Robert Hicks has rejoined his junior club Doutta Stars after playing three games as a rookie at Richmond.
Journeyman full-forward and former Adelaide Crows recruit Balraj Singh has been cleared to Westmeadows.
A couple of one-off appearances have already been booked, with former Carlton champion Anthony Koutoufides to play for Moonee Valley this weekend in its clash against Keilor Park.
Sydney Swans 300-gamer and indigenous team of the century full-forward Michael O'Loughlin will play on Anzac Day for Avondale Heights in its match against Aberfeldie.
