Collingwood's Andrew Krakouer has been granted a four-week leave of absence, to allow him to deal with "some personal issues".

The Magpies released a statement which said it was agreed by both parties that Krakouer have a break.

"The issues that Andrew is dealing with are of a personal nature and we will be supporting him in every way possible during this period," Collingwood director of football Geoff Walsh said.

"Andrew is held in high regard at Collingwood and we look forward to his return to team training in due course."

The club said Krakouer would be given a revised training program during this period, but would not require him to be part of normal training sessions.
