A New Zealand model was attacked in Sydney's western suburbs last night by someone who called him a "f---ing ugly model".
Samuel Levi, 18, said he went for a run on Greystanes Road, Greystanes, last night when he was pushed over.
"I was just going for my normal run and then the next minute I felt a blow from behind," Mr Levi said.
"This guy obviously knew me, he knew my name and called me a f---ing ugly model, then he cut my face and stomach.
"I don't think it was a knife, but I thought it could have been a piece of glass," he said.
Detective Inspector Dave Jones from Holroyd Local Area Command confirmed that police had interviewed Mr Levi after the attack.
"He reported it to police straight away. He said he was pushed into some bushes by a man wearing a hoodie, and sustained minor injuries," Detective Inspector Jones said.
Mr Levi has lived in Sydney for four months, and said he was shaken up by the event.
"I just [have] a few scratches to the face, stomach and bruising and my jersey and singlet [were] sliced through. I should be lucky I am still here, and count my lucky stars."
Mr Levi said he did not why he was targeted.
Mr Levi has modelled for skin-care products company Clearasil, hair product company American Crew, and was a state finalist for the Mr and Miss Schoolie model search competition.
Police have interviewed him and are asking anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
