VNL: Hume City's two teams chase premiership success

03 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
HUME City Falcons couldn't complete the hat-trick of teams advancing to grand finals last week but will have two premierships to fight for in Victorian Netball League on Saturday night.

The Holden Cruze Cup Championship will be Hume's main target as its resilient squad continues its run of form through injuries. The Falcons' under-19s will also be chasing premiership glory as it starts the evening's action at the State Netball and Hockey Centre with a match against Southern Saints.

Hume City's main championship rival Monash University Central made light work of North East Blaze in last week's preliminary final 66-39. It sets up a fourth meeting of the season between Hume and Monash, with the latter winning both regular season meetings between the teams before Hume's 52-44 qualifying final win last month.
