BROADMEADOWS is losing touch with the finals placings in Bowls Victoria Saturday pennant division 2 section 2 after a defeat to fellow top-four aspirant West Coburg at the weekend.
Having contended for top spot in the first half of the season, Broadmeadows' 4-74 to 14-77 defeat has left it seventh.
West Coburg claimed fourth spot with its win and has 142 points, while Broadmeadows is on 122. Division rival Craigieburn remains in the mix for the minor premiership, however, after a 16-90 to 2-70 win against Heidelberg Golf on Saturday.
Flemington-Kensington leads the division with 176 points from Craigieburn in second on 166.
In Div 1 Sec 2, Glenroy's destiny appears to be mid-table, even this far out from the end of the season.
A 16-79 to 2-75 loss against Keilor did not cost Glenroy seventh on the ladder (87 points) albeit opening the door for the eighth-placed team (72) to make a run in the coming weeks.
Relegation-threatened teams Ivanhoe (59 points) and Sunbury (48) still trail Glenroy by a big margin.
In Div 3 Sec 1, Gladstone Park beat Rosamond-2 16-119 to 2-39 to remain in top four contention.
