BROADMEADOWS recovered from a horror start to give its bowlers a score to defend in North West First XI away at Preston at the weekend.

The Falcons recovered from 4-32 to post 173 at Preston City Oval.

Captain Jody Hutchinson (58) and Kurtley Brandt (39) put on 82 for the sixth wicket to turn Broadmeadows' fortunes around.

Preston was 0-12 at stumps and will resume the run chase this weekend.

Gre envale dug itself out of a big hole to post 9-221 in Senior Division at the weekend.

Yarraville won the toss and sent Greenvale in on its home deck, reducing the top order to 4-19 early.

But captain Jon Kent (87) combined with Matthew Kent (29), Lee Templar (43) and Jacob Thompson (48 not out) to ensure Greenvale would bat out its 80-over allocation.

In North A1, Jacana made 136 before claiming three Laverton wickets before stumps.

Laverton will resume at 3-65 this weekend.

NWMCA

Roxbu rgh Park's Bradley Lynch ripped through Aberfeldie-St Johns with 5-35 but he and his team couldn't build partnerships as the Magpies lost by 60 runs in Luscombe Shield.

The Magpies restricted Aberfeldie-St Johns to 9-192 but were bowled out for 132 in reply.
