But Matthew English (5-27) and David Garvin (4-11) roared through Aberfeldie-St Johns in just 19.3 overs.
Roxburgh Park will resume its second innings at 1-51 this weekend, with Harley Short not out on 21.
At Hillside, visitors Gladstone Park battled to 128 all out before Hillside reached 1-53 in reply.
