THE Big Bash League may be over but Twenty20 fans can get their fix tonight as the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association's penultimate round takes to the park from 5.30pm.
Jacana (two wins, two losses) will attempt to win its way into the top four of the north division as it takes on Merlynston Hadfield (1-3) at Jacana Reserve.
Greenvale (3-1) will fancy its chances of progressing to the next round as it takes on winless Coolaroo at Progress Reserve, while the loser of Westmeadows' (3-1) match against Strathmore Heights (3-1) could be vulnerable to falling out of the quarter-final positions if Jacana wins.
Roxburgh Park (1-3) has been eliminated and plays away at fellow eliminated team Moonee Valley 2 (1-3).
The final round of Twenty20 matches will be played next week on Tuesday, February 7.
In George Luscombe Shield, Hume-area teams were doing it tough on Saturday.
Roxburgh Park was rolled for 81 in just 38.1 overs batting first against Sydenham-Hillside with only Ian Lynch reaching 20. Sydenham-Hillside posted 4-128 by stumps and is well placed to chase an outright result this weekend.
Aberfeldie-St Johns bowled out Gladstone Park for 261 off the back of 5-86 from Dusan Stoevski, before reaching 5-120 in reply.
Elsewhere in the division, Buckley Park made 305 batting first against Burnside Springs, while Pascoe Vale Central is already 0-34 in reply to Kealba-Green Gully's 145.
In Athol Attwater Shield, Campbellfield has taken control of its contest against Strathmore Heights after bowling out the home team at Boeing Reserve for 101.
Jamil Sukhon took 6-9 off 10 overs in a devastating bowling performance, before Matt Shore (65) and Allan Mitchell (70 not out) led Campbellfield to 7-186 off just 35 overs in reply.
