Falcons fail to fly

20 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
Broadmeadows' challenge for the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association Twenty20 title ended on Tuesday night after Melton's powerful bowling attack executed a successful defence.

Melton made 6-125 batting first and had the bowling firepower to defend a run rate at just over one run per ball. Broadmeadows batted out its 20 overs but could reach only 9-96 in reply.

With one win and two losses in Twenty20 action, the Falcons now cannot catch three-from-three Melton in the pool stage.
