ROXBURGH Park writer Demet Divaroren loves sharing her writing techniques with Hume residents.
Since December, Divaroren has been running Write Away workshops at The Age Library in Broadmeadows, encouraging people to use their imagination in new and inspiring ways.
"I run activities that help inspire aspiring writers to get creative and step outside of their comfort zone, especially with their writing process.
"I like to get them to really start thinking and interpreting things differently. It's all about getting the creative juices flowing," she said.
Her writing group has about five regular members, but membership is open to all.
Divaroren said her students were not expected to have any previous writing experience, just an open mind.
"No one leaves without writing something. The feedback I'm getting is that it is interesting and fun."
Divaroren said writing was a slow process that required patience and passion.
"I just keep sending my work out there and hoping for the best."
The Write Away workshops are from 7-8pm every Wednesday at The Age Library, Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows.
