A ROXBURGH Park woman has shared her horror story about Somerton Road in Meadow Heights.

Porzia Bagnato expressed concerns after reading the Weekly report last week about former Meadow Heights resident Abdul Nasraden, whose wife was killed after her car was hit by a truck at the intersection of Somerton Road and Magnolia Boulevard last year.

"I heard about the woman who was killed last year and I was very upset about it," Ms Bagnato said. "A lot of people go down that street and accidents happen."

Ms Bagnato said she was involved in an accident on October 28 when a car driver pulled out of Magnolia Boulevard without seeing her car travelling down Somerton Road.

She said she was in the car with her husband and young daughter at the time. They were lucky to escape injury.

Ms Bagnato, who has lived in the area for more than 20 years, said the intersection had always been a problem.

"It's been like that for many years and something should be done about it. I've lived in the area since I was 18; I'm 39 now. It's been over 20 years and nothing has been done."

I am completley disgusted in the state Government and Minister for roads for continuing to ignore the problems at this intersection. Something must be done. I have a facebook page called "fix somerton rd, magnolia blvd and kirkham dve" if people would like to join. I will be forwarding everyone's thoughts and feelings regarding these intersections to the minister for roads.
