MILL Park Heights Primary School is to get a walking track and 'frog bog'.
Funded by Nestle Campbellfield, the initiatives are aimed at raising students' awareness of native vegetation and indigenous history and create an ecosystem at the school.
The funding will be used to put in plants that attract native birds and insects.
It will also be used for providing bench seats, a rockery and a native frog bog.
Assistant principal Leigh Giroud said a group of students, nicknamed 'The frog bog boys', began escavating for the 'froggy haven' last week.
"It's an interactive project spaced around local Aboriginal and native history and will also provide an opportunity for fitness on the walking track."
He said the project was expected to take about six months to complete.
Nestle Campbellfield manager Peter Gough said the $25,000 grant was part of a community environment support program that had been running for the past six years.
