Police call witnesses to Craigieburn abduction

04 Nov, 2009 12:10 PM
A VIOLENT abduction in Craigieburn on Saturday has left police searching for witnesses and the owners of a blue VT Commodore.

The incident began at about 9.15pm on October 31 near Hothlyn Drive Reserve when one of a group of youths threw an egg at the dark blue VT Commodore. The occupants of the vehicle - a man and a woman - got out and confronted a group of youths at the Reserve asking for "who threw the egg".

The group had scattered and the man approached the male victim with a wheel brace. Assisted by the female, they dragged the youth into the car.

They drove to a home in Cranleigh Place, Craigieburn, where the woman got out and another man got into the car holding a knife. The two men threatened the victim asking him to tell them where the "egg thrower'' had gone to. The victim directed them to a house on Hothlyn Drive where they drove to.

Once there, the two men got out of the car and the victim remained close by. The second victim - the youth who it is believed threw the egg - came outside and there was a fight between the two offenders and this second victim. During the altercation the second victim was stabbed in the arm.

The offenders told the first victim - the abductee - to leave and they themselves fled.

Police and ambulance arrived and took the stab victim to hospital. He was later released.

Hume Detective Acting Sergeant Nick Konstantinidis urged any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

"The fact that a woman was involved in this incident is unusual - women aren't usually involved in such incidents,'' he said.

The female offender is described as about 20-years-old, Caucasian with green eyes, long, dark brown hair, about 175 centimetres tall and wearing a red singlet and black, tight jeans.

The first male offender is described as about 25-years-old with a Southern European appearance, about 175 centimetres, wearing a white had and blue jeans.

The second male offender is described as heavy set, about 25-30-years-old and wearing a blue singlet and dark pants.

The car involved was a dark blue or black VT Commodore with SS rims, a small spoiler and black skirts.
