GLENROY resident Anne Leroy, 39, and her partner Dean Farello, 37, have been on and off the unemployed list for the past 10 years.
The pair rely on job networks for training and other opportunities.
Ms Leroy has worked for the dole at various networks, including Glenroy's Youth Projects.
She is doing a screenprinting course before starting on a New Enterprise Incentive Scheme that will help her and Mr Farello start a custom T-shirt business.
But her road to employment has not been smooth. After working in Customs for many years, Ms Leroy's job prospects were ruined by cancer in her early 30s.
When Mr Farello recently lost his job as a tutor for the work-for-the-dole program, the pair decided to seek the job networks' help again.
They had only just bought a new car and their dole payments were barely covering their repayments and living costs.
They are hoping for the best with their latest scheme, but they reckon they couldn't have got to this point without job networks.
