Man crushed at Campbellfield

12 Mar, 2010 10:04 AM
A MAN was injured after being wedged between two massive rolls of paper at a factory in Campbellfield early Friday morning.

Advanced life support paramedics from Essendon along with intensive care paramedics were called to the factory just after midnight.

Paramedic Louise Wylie said when they arrived they found the 42-year-old lying on the floor in a lot of pain.

‘‘He told us he had been trying to move a 200-kilogram roll of paper when his lower left leg and foot became trapped against another roll of the same size,’’ Ms Wylie said.

‘‘We were told workmates had managed to free the man within five minutes and first-aid officers were caring for him when we arrived.’’

The man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
