HUME rhythm and blues band Cold Snap is tuning up for next month's Craigieburn Festival.
The band is looking forward to hitting the stage after being recognised by Hume Council at the Broadmeadows Fiesta late last year.
Its fiesta performance led to an invitation to perform at Hume's Carols by Candlelight last month.
Frontman Joe Valenti says he and wife Sonia and their three other band members are looking forward to bringing a different sound to the festival.
"We're going to bring high-energy rhythm and blues and give the audience something to talk about," he says.
"We want to get some local people on board, checking out our website and seeing where we're playing in town."
Valenti says the band will play a mixture of original songs and covers.
"We have originals, but we do play blues covers. The covers tend to be a bit obscure," he says.
"They're not as well known; we don't play stuff that's been done to death."
Cold Snap is in its fourth year and plays regularly around Melbourne.
The Craigieburn Festival is at Aitken Reserve on February 25-26.
Further information on the festival, including entertainment and activities, is yet to be released by Hume Council.
